Job Description

Summary

Primary responsibility is to support the USOPC Sport Sciences staff and provide supervision of the Olympic and Paralympic Training Center Sport Sciences Facility.

Essential Job Functions

Functions include but are not limited to the following:

  1. Customer Service.
  2. Maintain Sport Sciences facility.
  3. Maintain and track inventory of equipment and supplies to include lab, technology, nutrition and teaching kitchen and the check in/check out of equipment process.
  4. Operate reception desk and assist staff and athlete's as needed.
  5. Manage data entry of psychology applications into the USOPC CRM database (5 Rings) for registry.
  6. Assist the sport science service providers at the OPTC Sport Sciences lab and teaching kitchen as needed.
  7. Administrative support to supervisor as needed.
  8. Special projects to supervisor and Sport Performance staff as needed.

Qualifications

  • Educational requirements: enrolled in a bachelor's degree program at the junior or senior level status or enrolled in a master's degree program
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Passion for sport and the Ideals of the Olympic and Paralympic Movement
  • Sport experience preferred (i.e., active in competitive/intramural sports).
  • Must be eligible to work in the USA.
  • Excellent communication and human relations skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in fast paced multidisciplinary team environment. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook

Tools/Equipment

  • Standard office equipment
  • Microsoft applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook and Adobe
  • Proficiency with internet search capabilities and usage telecommunications equipment, fax machine, copier 

Conditions

  • Office environment in multi-story building on multi-building site
  • Possible prolonged standing and physical activity; early mornings, late evenings, and weekend hours

Hourly Pay Rate

$12.45 per hour

Internship Dates

January 6, 2020 - May 29, 2020
