The purpose of this announcement is to gather information from individuals interested in being an instructor (part-time) within this program. This employment is on a course by course basis. Individuals are usually assigned to one, or more, classes for a single semester, based on program needs. These positions are not eligible for employee benefits through the college. As these assignments are to fill a temporary part-time need, there is no guarantee of future employment. There may, or may not, be instructor positions currently available. About the Program

This program teaches you to perform general maintenance, as well as to diagnose and repair electrical, engine, transmission, suspension, brake, and air conditioning systems.

Our Experienced Faculty
The PCC Automotive Technology faculty has extensive dealership and independent repair experience in automotive repair, and parts sales. Faculty members are trained ASE certified technicians with expertise in the automotive industry. The diverse background of our faculty includes technicians who are ASE certified in the following areas: engine repair, electrical and electronic systems, heating and acAC, steering and suspension, brakes, advanced drivability, automatic and manual transmissions, and light diesel repair.

Job Description

This position specifically exists to provide classroom, laboratory, or related instruction under the supervision of the Department Chair and is responsible for planning and providing student instruction in accordance with approved syllabi, curriculum guidelines, and required program standards. Instructor must adhere to the laws, policies, procedures, rules, and applications which govern and affect the college, including the fiscal rules of the State of Colorado.

From the Automotive Program Chair:

  1. What are the degree requirements someone would have to fulfill to teach within your program? I would prefer an AAS.
    1. What discipline? Automotive or Collision
    2. What level (AA, BA, MA, PHD, etc.)? AAS in automotive
  2. Are there any certifications required to teach in your program? ASE certifications in G1 and A6 and additional ASE certifications in areas they want to teach.

  3. Are there any licenses required to teach in your program? ASE certifications
  4. Are there any other minimum qualifications an individual would need to instruct in your program? Minimum 2 years in the industry.
  5. Is there any information you would like potential applicants to be aware of as they are considering submitting an application to instruct in your program? Professional development and continuing education is required.
