Here's your opportunity for you to Direct a Nationally Accredited Nurse Practitioner Fellowship program.
Reporting to the VP of Clinical Education, the Program Director will be responsible for the APRN Fellowship including development, management, and oversight, program delivery, preceptorship, quality improvement, safety, regulatory compliance, evaluation and accreditation.
Leadership: Interface with Peak Vista community to promote improved community health outcomes. Explore and advocate interdisciplinary education opportunities. Promote local and state initiatives and opportunities for the APRN to function to the full scope of professional practice. The Program Director will work collaboratively as part of a Dyad structure with the Clinical Operations Director and serve as the clinic Medical Director. The Program Director will contribute to enhanced community health as an active participant on Clinical Advisory Committee (CAC) and other organizational committees as appropriate.
Curriculum Design & Implementation: Develop and implement competency-based didactic and practice curriculum for newly certified Advanced Practice Nurses. Within a learner-centered environment, build on the providers’ MSN or DNP education to promote the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required to effectively transition into primary care practice. Monitor and prioritize competencies so curriculum can be updated regularly to ensure that Fellows are prepared to meet the current and future health needs of the population.
Operational Management: Function as primary preceptor in the general clinic setting. Deliver and arrange for multimodal didactic instruction. Organize and manage clinical rotation schedule. Interface with specialty rotation preceptors. Oversee/deliver safe, effective care in the clinic setting. Maintain accurate program records. Maintain awareness and compliance with all current regulatory and professional standards for the APRN. Implement orientation strategies for all program supportive personnel and preceptors. Mentor practice Fellows and APRNs and provide learning and leadership opportunities for them to better the profession and improve the health of the community
Recruitment: Develop effective recruitment strategies to match Peak Vista values and opportunities with potential Fellows. Organize and participate in Fellow selection process.
Quality & Evaluation: Oversee timely and effective evaluation processes to include all program and participant outcomes. Evaluate program effectiveness in improving the APRN transition to practice, expanding APRN competencies, improving patient outcomes and satisfaction and provider retention and satisfaction. Oversee and facilitate accreditation processes. Maintain ANCC PTAP Accreditation.
Board Certified APRN
Unencumbered Colorado RN, APRN, & Independent RXN and DEA. X Waiver preferred. License (or eligibility)
Doctoral degree required. Ideal candidate has been practicing as a Nurse Practitioner for 4+ years with a strong interest in teaching and mentoring other new Nurse Practitioners.
Academic preparation or experience in program design and adult learning theories. Prior experience as an Adjunct Professor or Instructor is preferred.
Experience and expertise in multimodal teaching & learning strategies. Subject matter expertise and experience in Primary Care.
