The Threat Modeling Center (TMC) team at Northrop Grumman MissionSystems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Kinematic Missile ModelVerification and Validation (V&V) Engineer based out of Schriever AFB,in Colorado Springs, CO.
What You'll Getto Do:
TheTMC is responsible for the development and delivery of high fidelity threatmodeling products in support of Missile Defense Agency (MDA) and the MDA'sBallistic Missile Defense System (BMDS). The Kinematic Missile Model V&VEngineer role serves as an internal verifier and validator of kinematic modelsdeveloped by the TMC prior to their use within MDA. This position requires adetail-oriented engineer responsible for verifying the quality of high fidelityballistic missile and advanced threat models for use in a variety of modelingand simulation tools/framework/media. Must have a good understanding ofmodeling and simulation methods and processes. Must be able to research,interpret and verify parameters required to build, replicate and propagatemissile or space launch trajectories to include staging, debris, countermeasures and RV / payload traits. Must be able to apply standard engineeringand mathematical algorithms to ensure the accurate portrayal of expectedmissile or space launch behavioral characteristics during all phases of poweredand un-powered flight. The selected individual must be able to work with littleor no direct supervision, work as an integral member of a threat productdelivery team, and meet time critical delivery schedules.

- 2 years of experience with a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant Science, Technical, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline; 0 Years with a Masters (at least one degree must be in a STEM discipline).
- Active Final DoD Secret clearance
- Programming background to include languages such as MATLAB and Python
- Knowledge of the flight characteristics, motion, and performance of a ballistic missile
- Must be self-motivated, able to work in a dynamic team environment
- Modeling, simulation, and automation experience
- Strong math, physics or engineering background
- Previous experience with modeling flight characteristics, motion, atmospheric dynamics, and missile performance parameters of ballistic missiles
- Strong background in missile system engineering performance
- Mastery of engineering modeling principles behind body motion, trajectory generation, counter measures, and debris
- Current DoD Top Secret Clearance
