Northrop Grumman's Mission Systems (NGMS) Sustainment and Modernization of Radar Sensors (SMORS) program is looking for you to join our team as a BMEWS/PAVE PAWS (BPP) Principal Systems Engineer based out of Colorado Springs, CO.
The Principal Systems Engineer will support the BPP sustainment and modification tasks under the guidance of the BPP senior systems engineers.
Demonstrate the principles of systems engineering across the system lifecycle in support of sustainment and modifications of Missile warning/Missile Defense (MW/MD) ground based radars
Support or Lead the review and analyses of existing technical documentation on MW/MD modifications for completeness and possible impacts to system sustainment as part of BMEWS/PAVE PAWS (BPP) ground based radar re-integration activities
Support the system modeling team in identifying planned system modification impacts resulting from documentation reviews and analyses
Support or Lead system requirements reviews and creating and/or updating requirement specifications and technical documentation
Support or Lead the development of trade studies/analyses for the selection of preferred design solutions, commercial hardware or software components, and preferred course of action alternatives in project development/product delivery
Support or Lead the development of system integration plans, procedures and scenarios used in the conduct of software/hardware system integration testing, and supporting the analysis of integration results to assess system impacts
Support, participate, and/or lead discussions in technical working groups addressing systems engineering elements across the BPP ground based radar system
Participate in engineering peer reviews as a document originator or reviewer to ensure technical quality and engineering rigor is appropriate
- 5 Years with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters, 0 Years with PhD within a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited college.
- Active Secret security clearance or ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
- Willing and able to travel on occasion continental and international sites
- Active Secret security clearance
- Demonstrable strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Experience with Ground Based Radars
- Experience across the system engineering lifecycle
- Experience with MS Office suite of tools (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
- Familiarity with model-based systems engineering
