The ESL team at Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Principal / Sr Principal Linux System Administrator based out of Schriever AFB, in Colorado Springs, CO.  

What You'll get to Do:

ESL provides opportunities to explore new technologies and innovative best practices.   

This system administrator position requires extensive experience in managing distinct environments, managing all aspects of the development and operations environments, which includes monitoring, resolution, administration, and engineering running on RedHat. They will demonstrate business and technical knowledge, mentoring, and training for Linux systems and application administration to help ESL ensure the health, uptime, and performance of our development and production services, which rely on an infrastructure of Linux (RedHat) hosts requiring 24 x 7 uptime.   

Responsible for improving and maintaining our infrastructure ensuring availability and scalability. Focus is on continuously improving the speed and efficiency of the environment and systems required to support it. Candidates will work closely with our engineers to design and implement systems to support our suite of hosted applications. This individual must be comfortable using and supporting automation systems to deploy and configure our applications and be familiar with the technologies those applications are built on. Automation of all tasks should be part of your operating DNA. This individual must be comfortable in a team environment and be willing to manage multiple tasks. The candidate should be a selfstarter with the ability to complete tasks without a great deal of hand-holding.

This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.


This requisition may be filled at either a Principal or Sr. Principal level.
You'll bring These Qualifications:
- For a Principal Systems Administrator: 6 Years of experience with Bachelors in a relevant field; 2 Years with Masters; or 10 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
 - For a Sr. Principal Systems Administrator: 10 Years of experience with Bachelors in a relevant field; 8 Years with Masters; or 14 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
- Working knowledge of core Internet protocols and services (e.g., IPv4, IPv6, TCP, UDP, NTP, DNS, HTTP, SMTP, SSH, syslog) required.
- Experience with the Linux operating system
- Experience with RedHat Identity Manager and related protocols (e.g. RADIUS, TACACS , Kerberos, LDAP, NTP, Samba, etc.)
- Experience scripting with Bash, Perl, and/or Python.
- Security CE
- TS/SCI security clearance
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
-  Understanding of the software development lifecycle including analysis, design, code, test, integration, maintenance
- Be able to work under pressure in restoring high priority systems back to operations.
- Experience with automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, Fabric, ect)
- Network , CCNA, familiar with Networking, Firewalls and Routers
