Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Computer Systems Architect based out of Colorado Springs, CO.
What You'll get to Do:
Responsible for information systems design, development, and analysis in one or more of the following areas of technical expertise: programming, PC application analysis, software development, systems integration, and related disciplines. Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. Ancillary duties may include maintaining system documentation.
Knowledge, Skills and Ability: Frequent use and general knowledge of industry practices, techniques, and standards. General application of concepts, and principles. Demonstrates the skill and ability to perform moderately complex professional tasks.
Problem Solving: Provides/Develops solutions to a variety of technical problems of increasing scope and complexity as assigned. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organization objectives.
Discretion/Latitude: Work is reviewed for soundness of technical judgment, overall adequacy and accuracy. Works under general supervision. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.
Impact: Contributes to the completion of milestones associated with specific projects.
Liaison: Frequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts. Represents the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects.
2 years of experience with a Bachelors, or 5 years similar experience in lieu of a degree; 0 years with Masters
Ability to obtain Secret-level Security Clearance within 6 months of hire
Demonstrate strong people, organizational, presentation and communication skills, written and verbal
Ability to work independently with multi-disciplined teams within the program
Experience in Linux Administration
Experience in Windows Administration
Active Secret-level Security Clearance
Experience in RedHat 6/7 and in Windows 10, including migration from previous operating system versions
Experience with complex server, network and RAID architectures
Familiarity with engineering drawings and technical manuals, and the use thereof for operating, maintaining and troubleshooting of equipment
