CO Program Coordinator
AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY: The residential coordinator is a pivotal position in the home.
This is a part time position working approximately 16 hours per week.
The person in this position has the responsibility to coordinate the variety of services including, but not limited to: finances of persons served, recreation, program services, family involvement, education/vocational programs, healthcare/nutrition, and household management. The residential coordinator is responsible to assist the program coordinator in maintaining consistency in programming, care of persons served, and communication with staff and interdisciplinary team members. The residential coordinator is also responsible to carry out the responsibilities and duties of the habilitation training specialist during all direct care shifts. The residential coordinator is responsible to be the back-up to cover shifts in the event of an unexpected absence of staff.
Must have a high school diploma or GED certificate.
Education or training in working with individuals who are mentally retarded and/or equivalent experience, as determined by the director. Prior experience in residential services for individuals with mental retardation preferred. Must be responsible, reliable, and able to carry out job functions without direct supervision.
This position is designated as a driving position because it requires the transportation of persons served or driving a Dungarvin owned vehicle. Any employee in this position must comply with the requirements outlined in the POLICY AND PROCEDURE ON DRIVING AND THE USE OF MOTOR VEHICLES (A-8). All employees in this position must have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record, as defined by our insurance carrier. An employee hired for a position that requires the employee to drive his/her own car is responsible for his/ her own automobile insurance.

DRIVING STATUS: Driving Position
Responsible to carry out the duties and responsibilities of this position during regularly scheduled shifts, including holidays (if scheduled), and weekend shifts as scheduled. The residential coordinator will need to work unscheduled shifts to provide adequate coverage. The program coordinator should be notified of any unscheduled hours worked, so arrangements can be made to replace a regular shift during that pay period.
