Job Summary

Responsible for managing financial information needs of all projects, including budgets, expenditures, forecasts and cash flow for one or more projects across various groups within the organization. Also responsible for working with our current accounting and finance applications and processes to ensure we are fully utilizing them to record and track project costs that will allow for appropriate reporting across various levels of management within the organization. Has ownership for all project accounting procedures, policies and methodologies and is responsible for insuring that all project teams are informed and trained on current practices. Works with all levels of management and staff in Compassion worldwide.

Duties and Responsibilities


*Has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully upholds Compassion's ministry in prayer.
*Working within one's influence, serves as an advocate for children around the world who live in poverty and are not able to speak out for themselves. This includes being informed about the issues of children and influencing others to care about children who are in need.
*Understands Finance software applications and ensures applications are fully utilized in order to record and track all project related costs in the most efficient and effective manner.
*Works with project managers and project management team to identify and quantify project costs and benefits and assists with preparation of project budgets, ROI and Cost/Benefit analysis for potential projects.
*Establishes Compassion's methodology for maintaining cost management records for projects with the assistance of the project management team and other finance department staff and monitors adherence to current policies.
*Defines appropriate documentation for project expenditures and approvals for all project related costs and ensures compliance with current policies.
*Ensures consistency with budgeted expenditures and allocations for projects throughout the lifecycle of the project.
*Reviews forecasts-to-complete and other project progress projections for management reporting with project leadership and management.
*Consults with project leadership regarding regular project cost reports including variance, forecast-final-cost and cash flow requirements for all projects.
*Performs other special projects or responsibilities as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

1. Three years experience in support of project cost accounting. Desirable experience using Great Plains, Business Objects and/or Ultipro software.
2. Excellent financial analysis skills as well as a strong attention to details.
3. Ability to create meaningful and effective cost analysis reports as well as experience with ROI and/or Cost/Benefit analysis.
4. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to manage multiple and changing priorities with minimal supervision. Ability to assist multiple project managers with competing demands to provide assistance to multiple projects.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with finance and IT professionals of various organizational levels.
6. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products including Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio and other project management, analytical and reporting tools.
7. International work or multi-cultural experiences preferred.

Working Conditions
May require minimum amount of travel. Travel, when necessary, will be to developing countries.
