Job: Executive Director - Lone Tree Cultural Arts Center

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: To provide leadership, management and oversight of the activities and operations of the Lone Tree Cultural Arts Center.

1. Directs and coordinates all activities of the Lone Tree Cultural Arts Center (LTCAC).

2. Cultivates, fosters and maintains positive working relationships with residents, patrons, members of local and regional art communities.

3. Works with City Council, City Manager’s Office, the Lone Tree Arts Commission, and Lone Tree Cultural Arts Foundation to strategically assess the mission of the LTCAC as it relates to community needs.

4. In partnership with the Lone Tree Cultural Arts Foundation, oversees fundraising for capital purchases and programming endowments from a variety of private and public sources.

5. Maintains internal and external awareness by monitoring conditions, trends, innovations and practices that may have implications on the facility. Leads change that supports continuous improvement.

6. Manages Cultural Arts Facility budget and has fiscal oversight and responsibilities for associated programs and projects. Identifies budget requirements and allocates secured resources, establishes expense limits, authorizes expenditures and other financial activities.

7. Ensures that facility volunteers are well-trained and feel valued for their contributions.

8. Develops programming, staffing and fundraising plans.

9. Develops or establishes standards, systems and or guidelines for the facility and staff that align with City policies and procedures.

10. Serves as a member of the City’s Department Director Team.



SUPERVISION EXERCISED
Directly supervises to-be-determined staff members, including, but not limited to, facility, marketing, ticketing, administrative and programming professionals. Responsible for training, planning, assigning, directing work, interviewing and hiring, disciplinary actions, promotions/transfers, pay increases, and terminations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of national standards for cultural institutions and related programming.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate and interact with all levels of personnel within the City and the general public in a positive and cooperative manner.
Strong community relations skills in dealing with community organizations and citizen groups.

Strong knowledge of computers and software applications including spreadsheet (Excel), word processing (Word), email and internet.
Ability to lead staff.
Ability to exercise initiative and judgment as well as make decisions within the scope of assigned authority.

Experience and Training Guidelines
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

Minimum qualifications include: (1) Bachelor’s Degree in Arts Administration, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field (2) Masters Degree in Business, Public Administration, Arts or related field preferred; (3) four years of supervisory arts administration experience. (4) demonstrated track record in fundraising with experience in the development and successful implementation of capital campaigns preferred; (5) skill in understanding and responding to customer needs.
