JOB TITLE: VIRAL/ON-LINE MARKETING SPECIALIST SUMMARY: Works under general management guidance and has total project responsibility for the larger or more complex projects requiring advanced design and analysis. Provides training and work direction to other professional and support staff. Manages a variety of tactical activities for the Company. Advises the team on developments in target markets. Assists with product development, product launch, and/or product marketing as needed. Works closely with team members and others to design, develop, and distribute marketing collateral virally (e.g., brochures, videos, posters, web pages, banners etc). Obtains, compiles, and reports on market information for use by team and Company senior management. Creates formal and informal written communications addressed to customers, distributors, professional musicians, audiophiles, competitive athletes, bloggers and others. Direct & viral marketing (web-sites, search optimization, banners, etc.,) program creation, collateral creation, tradeshows, electronic and print advertising. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: " Provides viral/on-line marketing expertise and consultation to the Company Music Product team on a broad range of marketing applications as they relate to Company products. " Research, analysis, advertising materials development, direct mail, website content development, organization of product expositions, exhibiting at trade fairs and conventions, and preparation of reports to assist with decision making. " Utilizing graphic design software, produces advertisements, sales promotions and public relations material. Plans content and determines size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy. Prepares final layouts for printer. Requires knowledge of layout principles and esthetic design concepts. " Gains knowledge of external opinions and reactions to existing and new music products through use of blogs, forums, and other sources; works closely with the Marketing Media Specialist to develop viral & on-line strategies. " Plans and implements all national and professional trade show activities. Serves as organization contact for show management during pre-show planning and execution. Manages all shipments, set-up and presentation. Coordinates show-related PR and advertising opportunities. " Designs media and marketing collateral for Company Music Products. " Ensures the timely and appropriate use of financial and other resources to achieve defined business goals and objectives. " Effectively chooses and employs a variety of communication methods to reach target audiences. " Demonstrate initiative in analyzing and solving a variety of tactical issues that may arise during the course of business. " Other duties as assigned EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: " Four year degree in marketing or computer sciences or closely related degree. (May consider equivalent professional level work experience as an equivalency for part of the four-year degree requirement.) " Five or more years of paid professional viral/on-line marketing-related work experience with a for-profit company, handling a broad range of marketing responsibilities to include such tasks as the design and publication of marketing collateral, project planning and accountability, developing strategies in a team environment to include accountabilities and milestones. " Excellent track record of effective collaboration with co-workers, vendors, and distributors. " Willingness to accept time-critical goals and see them to completion on time and on budget. " A passion for several types of music, an understanding of what goes into audio equipment of the highest sound quality, along with a deep respect for those who create music (of all types). " Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, where duties are cross-trained and shared. " Ability to create and sustain effective working relationships with customers. " Communicate effectively by phone, write effective correspondence, participate in blogs and other social networking sites. " Experience as a photographer, videographer, sound system engineer, or similar role where editing of media was performed to a professional standard is strongly preferred. Type
