Engineer Managing - Reliability Compliance
Position Number: 401703 Pay Range: Min: $86,842 Mid: $112,895 Max: $146,764 Location: Colorado Springs, CO Posting Close Date: Please note: All postings will close at 12:00pm on the Posting Close Date. This position resides in the energy construction, operations and maintenance department of Colorado Springs Utilities. The successful incumbent will be responsible for managing Colorado Springs Utilities' reliability compliance monitoring and enforcement program. This program is used by Colorado Springs Utilities to monitor, assess, enforce, and document compliance with reliability standards within the United States and the Western Interconnection. The reliability compliance managing engineer is responsible for, but not limited to: *Providing day-to-day direction, development, and implementation and monitoring of the reliability compliance program; *Providing strategic guidance and oversight for the processes, training and implementation needed to ensure full compliance with North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) and Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC) mandatory reliability standards; *Providing strategic guidance and oversight to the Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) project manager to ensure compliance with all NERC/ CIP and reliability standards as part of the overall reliability compliance program; and, acts as Colorado Springs Utilities' primary compliance contact with the NERC and WECC; *Responsible for compliance reporting to NERC and WECC organizations on Colorado Springs Utilities behalf. Specifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities): Solid Knowledge Of: *Supervision principles and techniques including personnel policies and procedures *NERC/ CIP reliability standards and compliance program implementation *Budget preparation methods and techniques *Advanced engineering principles, requirements and techniques *Advanced project management principles and techniques *Information systems principles, requirements and functionality *Computers, and all engineering related computer programs and equipment *Applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations Skill In: *Managing people *Compliance program management *Critical thinking and analysis *Advanced technical writing *Project management *Performing complex engineering analysis *Using computers, a variety of software and other equipment *Facilitating meetings and giving presentations *Communicating and using interpersonal skills in a variety of internal and external settings Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this position are most often acquired through the following level of academic training and range of practical experience or an equivalent combination as stated below: Minimum Education Required: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited university in the discipline related to area of assignment Minimum Experience Required: Ten or more years of professional level engineering experience in the discipline related to area of assignment. Leadership experience required Typical Licensing/Certification Requirements: *Registration as a Professional Engineer is desired and may be required *Colorado Driver's License may be required Supervisory Responsibility: Yes Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: This position typically requires reaching, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions. This is sedentary work exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
