Colorado RN licensure and current BLS required. The Orthopedic Unit is a 34 bed unit. Most of our patients are joint replacements, hips and knees. Average age of our patients is 62 years old. We staff with RNs and CNAs. Teamwork is a big part of our culture.

The RN's in the OR help promote a positive work environment through cooperation, teamwork and by providing excellent patient care. The OR at Penrose Hospital is an eleven-suite unit performing a wide variety of surgeries, including: large orthopedic, trauma, heart, spine fusions, gastric bypass, gyn, ENT, and large general cases. Duties and responsibilities include: preparing for surgical procedures, administering medications, monitoring patient status, and participating in problem-solving activities, while anticipating the needs of the patient and the operating team at all times. Colorado or Compact RN licensure, BLS required, and prefer 2 years previous OR experience. Prefer experience with scrubbing and circulating
