MISSION OVERVIEW Sites of Care: The VA Eastern Colorado Health Care System (ECHCS) is the result of the integration of two VA organizations in 2002, the VA Southern Colorado Health Care System and VA Medical Center, Denver, Colorado. Facilities include the 128 bed medical center in Denver and 7 Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOC), located in Aurora, Lakewood, Colorado Springs, Pueblo, La Junta, Lamar, and Alamosa, CO. There are two Nursing Home Care Units with a total capacity of 100 patients. The Pueblo Nursing Home has 40 beds and the Denver Nursing Home has 60 beds. The Denver location is a tertiary care referral facility. It provides a full range of state-of-the-art patient care services and serves as an educational and research center. Comprehensive health care is provided through primary care, tertiary care, and long-term care in areas of medicine, surgery, psychiatry, physical medicine and rehabilitation, neurology, oncology, dentistry, geriatrics, and extended care.
